The setup assistant
The first time Brunvo opens, a setup assistant opens beside the window. It asks one thing per step. Use Back to revisit a step. Welcome offers Sign In… and Not Now while you are signed out; the later steps offer Continue and Skip. Return takes the primary action. Nothing changes until you click: install commands run only in a tab you can see, and any change it makes goes through the same settings you can change later.
Quit halfway and it opens at the same step next time. Finish Later (Esc, ⌘., or the close button) puts it away; open it again from the profile button with Setup and Health…, which lists every step as it stands now.
The eleven steps
- Welcome. Name this profile. Sign in to start your 14-day trial. Not Now continues setup, but new sessions need an active trial or membership.
- Keep sessions running. Brunvo's background service holds your terminals, so they keep running when the app quits, crashes, or updates. macOS asks you to allow it in Login Items; the step waits and continues once you have.
- The command line. Agents and scripts use the
brunvocommand to open tabs, ask other agents, and find their own session. The step makes the link and gives you thePATHline for other terminals. - Your agents. Brunvo runs the agent CLIs you install and sign in to yourself. Each one shows as found or missing, with its install commands to run in a Brunvo tab.
- Developer tools. Git powers branches, worktrees, and the Git pane; the GitHub CLI adds issues and boards.
- Where your projects live. Brunvo looks here when you open a desk. macOS asks once for a protected folder such as Documents.
- Notifications. Brunvo tells you when an agent needs you or finishes, while you work in another app.
- Agent rules. Optional: teach your agents how to work inside Brunvo. Each agent's instructions file is backed up first.
- Privacy. Help find and fix bugs by sharing counts and timings; never terminal content, commands, paths, or names. The privacy guide shows what is sent.
- Look and keys. How Brunvo looks, and whether the Option key belongs to Brunvo or to your shell (the keys guide explains the layouts).
- Open your first project. Pick a folder for your first desk, and start an agent in it if you like. An installed agent is selected by default; choose a shell if you prefer. Open Desk finishes when your membership permits new sessions.
Afterwards
Every choice lives in Settings (⌘,) as well, per profile. If something does not look right, Troubleshooting starts with the health check.
